Summary of Content Changes
Colorado
- We have changed the Tax Descriptions for Colorado's TRS assessments in our data. The standard TRS assessment that does not apply to prepaid wireless has a description of "COLORADO TELECOMMUNICATIONS RELAY SERVICE SURCHARGE" per 4 Colo. Code Regs. §723-2-2827(b)(V). The TRS assessment that applies to prepaid wireless will have a description of "COLORADO PREPAID WIRELESS TRS CHARGE."
- Pursuant to Decision Number C25-0255 in Proceeding Number 25M-0157T, the Colorado Telecommunications Relay Service Uniform Charge has increased from $0.03 to $0.06 per access line per month, effective June 1, 2025.
- Effective June 1, 2025, there have been several changes to local 911 rates in Colorado. Please review our rate change report to understand the details of these changes.
Florida
- Effective June 1, 2025, two components of the Hillsborough County local sales and use tax, which had previously been temporarily suspended, have been reactivated. As a result, the Hillsborough County local sales and use tax has increased from 0.5% to 1.5%.
Idaho
- Pursuant to order number 36589 released on May 1, 2025, the Idaho Telecommunication Service Assistance Program fee has decreased from $0.05 to $0.03 per access line effective May 1, 2025.
Louisiana
- Effective June 1, 2025, there are two city sales and use tax changes within Saint Landry Parish. The city of Opelousas' rate has decreased from 2.2% to 1.2%. The city of Washington's rate has decreased from 1.2% to 1%.
New York
- We have updated the taxability of wireless services for New York Corporation Franchise Taxes per N.Y. Tax L. 184 and TSB-M-15(6)C. For details about this change, see taxability change report.
Ohio
- The new factor for the Ohio Telecommunications Relay Service assessment has been calculated. The factor has increased from 0.0151822 to 0.0202029.
Virginia
- Each year, the Virginia State Corporation Commission issues an order regarding the rate of the special regulatory revenue tax. This tax has been set at the rate of 0.22% for several years in a row. The order for 2025 was issued on May 9th, and the rate for 2025 is set to continue at 0.22%.
