Release 08/13/2026

New Features

  • Telecommunications tax support in QBO: Customers can now calculate and post telecom taxes — such as FUSF, E911, TRS, and state/local telecom surcharges — on their sales documents, including recurring invoices and sales receipts. Telecom taxes are configurable per customer and are broken out by jurisdiction and fee. Sales tax remains the default, so existing customers are not affected unless they opt in to Telecommunications.
  • Location name passed as a custom attribute: The QBO document's location (DepartmentRef.name) is now sent to CereTax as the custom attribute qboLocation. When the location field is blank, no attribute is sent. This field can be enabled in QBO settings.

Improvements

  • Updated webhook payload handling: The integration now supports Intuit's new cloud event webhook payload structure while remaining backward compatible with the current format.

Bug Fixes

Freeform address parsing — several fixes to how the plugin interprets addresses entered as freeform text:

  • ZIP+4 postal codes: When a ZIP+4 code (e.g., 70471-7786) appears on a single address line, the correct postal code is now extracted instead of a malformed value.
  • 4- and 5-line addresses: The plugin now selects the correct street line from freeform addresses with 4 or 5 lines, so the proper situs address is sent to CereTax.
  • Single-line addresses: Addresses supplied as one combined line are now parsed correctly into street, city, state, and postal code instead of collapsing into the city and postal fields.
